Shipping Costs

We are pleased to offer our customers multiple shipping options. First, in-store pickup is always free.  Just make sure you place your order far enough in advance to pick and pack your order before you arrive.

We usually ship by Fed-Ex–there are multiple Fed-Ex shipping options available to you during the checkout process; all you need do is select the option that works best for your budget and time constraints.

Customers shipping to the Midwestern United States, might receive their order by Spee-Dee Delivery.  Spee-Dee is often faster and more inexpensive than other carriers, but has a limited delivery area.  We will use Spee-Dee if it makes sense–nothing more for you to do.  Of course we do sell a few items that cannot be shipped for such a reasonable rate due to their weight, volume, or fragile nature…

The following items are unusually heavy, bulky, or fragile, so they will incur additional shipping charges.  The best way to calculate shipping is to add all items to your cart and calculate actual shipping costs based on your zip code.  Buying more items will help you offset the extra shipping costs incurred with these items.  Are you sure you don’t need some extra yeast or want to try that new hop variety you’ve been reading about?  How about expanding your knowledge and adding a book to your order?

  • Bottles (heavy and fragile)
  • Glass Carboys (fragile)
  • Liquid Malt Extracts (heavy)
  • Wine Kits (heavy)
  • Equipment Kits (bulky)
  • Sacks of grain (heavy, require special packaging)
  • Any other item identified as requiring special handling in the item description.

The surest way to calculate your actual shipping costs is to add items to your cart.  You may remove any item from your cart at any time before completing checkout.  Should you have any questions or wish for special handling of your order, we are ready to help!  Please call us during normal business hours at (715) 342-9535, or use our secure contact form to request a personal consultation.

Shipping Methods

Point Brew Supply LLC will dispatch your order within one business day of receiving payment, either online, or by telephone.  We will choose the quickest, most cost effective carrier depending on package size, your location, and which expedited method you choose (if applicable).  Items requiring freight, or that are only eligible for in-store pickup will be noted in the product description.

We use the following services in most cases:

Fed-Ex Ground

Most orders ship within 1 business day; delivery in 1 to 4 business days depending on zone. Packages are delivered Monday-Friday, between 8 AM and 7 PM.

USPS

First class mail or Priority mail depending on weight.  Usually for small items only.  USPS is not cost effective for large or heavy items.

Spee-Dee Delivery Service

Available only in the Midwest.  See a map of their service area here.  Most packages arrive in 1-2 business days, with some remote areas being 3 day service.  We will use Spee-Dee Delivery whenever possible; their service is excellent.

Expedited Shipping

There are multiple expedited shipping options available to you during checkout.  Please choose a method that meets your budget and time constraints.  Additionally, you may call us (715-342-9535) during normal business hours to place your order and confirm your shipping and payment details at that time.

Live Yeast

In order to assure the best viability possible, we will not ship live yeast over a weekend.  Orders placed on a Thursday or Friday containing live yeasts will be shipped the following Monday or next Business day.

Outside the Contiguous US

Point Brew Supply does not ship internationally.

Point Brew Supply cannot ship to APO addresses.

Orders to Alaska and Hawaii are shipped by UPS or USPS. You will be billed for the exact shipping cost — we do not charge a handling fee. 2nd Day Air shipping to Alaska and Hawaii will take 3 business days to arrive due to the distances involved.  Please call us to place your order if it will be shipped to Alaska or Hawaii.

We do not guarantee viability of liquid yeast shipped outside the contiguous US, and recommend that customers in these locations choose dry yeast instead.
